Conifer, Colorado lies just a few miles south of Evergreen, where Hwy 73 meets Hwy 285. Once the hub of a ranching community, Conifer is now the hub for many homeowners looking for rural real estate while enjoying an easy commute to Denver.

In addition to the towns of Evergreen and Conifer, our mountain region includes a number of inviting communities for you to consider for your next home. Each of these has its own mountain flavor and is within convenient commuting distance to Denver, the Denver Tech Center and Denver International Airport.

Real estate in Golden is easily accessed via I-70 and is the closest incorporated city to Denver. Golden is rich in history, created in the 1860’s to serve as a supply stop for gold miners heading to the nearby mountains. Today Golden serves as the county seat for Jefferson County. Homes in Lookout Mountain and Genesee are part of the Golden zip code yet the communities retain their own flavor and hospitality. Lookout Mountain rises above Golden and lies to the north of I-70. This area is home to a variety of styles, from beautifully preserved mountain cabins to new construction. Homes in Genesee, to the south of I-70 are generally newer. These communities boast easy commutes to Denver and wonderful views of city lights to the east and distant mountain ranges to the west.

At home in Morrison you’ll be located near the banks of Bear Creek, where Hwy 74 begins to climb from the plains to the towns of Idledale, Kittredge and Evergreen. Morrison was founded in 1872 when a group of businessmen created a narrow gauge railway connecting Denver to Mt. Morrison. The railway is no longer there but the town is home to wonderful old architecture and the renowned Red Rocks Amphitheater. Farther west you will find access to several beautiful areas preserved for recreational use by both the Denver Mountain Parks system and Jefferson County Open Space.

West of Morrison on Hwy 74, you will travel through the communities of Idledale and Kittredge. Idledale was originally called Starbuck Heights and real estate reflects an easygoing mix of older cabins with history and charm alongside newer homes. Kittredge was home to a number of Denver socialites seeking to escape the heat of the city and retreat to their mountain “cabins” along Bear Creek.

Just a few miles farther up the road you will find yourself back in Evergreen. At the only stoplight in downtown Evergreen, head south on Hwy 73, toward the towns of Conifer, Pine and Bailey. Real estate in these communities is also easily accessed via Hwy 285, allowing for an easy commute to Denver and the Denver Tech Center. Conifer proudly offers two beautiful new shopping areas that are home to local businesses as well as national chain grocery stores and restaurants. As you approach Pine and Bailey you will discover a sense of the ranch life that has been a large part of this area’s history. Homes here are generally on larger acreage sites and architecture is varied.
