Denver & RTD Propose New Design for 16th Street Mall
The city and RTD would like to push the transit lines to the center of the street and expand sidewalks to allow more room for walking, cafe seating & other activities. The proposal aims to enhance the mall experience for visitors and improve pedestrian safety. The changes are expected to cost between $90 million and $130 million and construction should begin in late 2020 if the plan is approved. The city & RTD will host open houses on March 8 for public comment.
