There’s a sweet little coffee shop in Pine Junction waiting to serve you a bite for the road.  Open for just over a year and undeterred by COVID-19, the Coffee Bean & Bakery serves exactly what its name implies: delicious coffee, tasty pastries & more.  Located just north of the stoplight at Pine Junction on Mt. Evans Blvd, it is easy on & off Hwy 285 for anyone traveling either direction.

Amy Riffle is the owner and she comes to the business with extensive experience in the food service industry, from the kitchen in back to the customer service area upfront.  Armed with culinary school education and extensive knowledge gained from working in corporate restaurants, small independent establishments and even her own Italian eatery--don’t let her last name fool you, she’s definitely of Italian lineage--Amy is smart, talented & determined enough to make this special place successful.

A key to her success is the fact that she treats her staff as family and her customers as friends.  Within days of opening, she saw the same people dropping by over & over and she knew she’d found a niche.  While I was interviewing her, a group of regulars who meet once a week after hiking together were seated in the comfy lounging area in back and she called out to 90% of the customers who came in by name.

In addition to her pastries, Amy serves up breakfast burritos, sandwiches & wraps, homemade soup and more, always fresh daily.  She offers free wi-fi and is open from 5am to 3pm weekdays, 7am to 3pm weekends.  When you stop by, you’ll find Amy or her full-time sidekick, Betty, whipping up hand-crafted food & drinks while soothing music plays in the background.  Tell them you heard about the shop from Tupper’s Team.
